You’ve found a great dress, but how are you going to wear your hair? This is one of the biggest questions our sales consultants ask young ladies once they have found the perfect dress for homecoming (or any occasion). We ask this question to see not only how a customer’s hair will look, but what type of accessories the customer should wear with the dress. Here are some rules to follow:
1. If the dress is simple, you can wear your hair up or down with some chunky or blingy/sparkly accessories.
2. If the dress has a lot going on (beading/has a print/intricate design) don’t mess with the dress and ruin it with too many accessories. Keep hair and accessories simple.
3. If the dress is simple but has an intricate neckline/bodice, wear some great earrings with your hair up or down. Sometimes adding a necklace will make it look too busy so beware.
4. If the dress is strapless with a simple neckline, play around with a simple necklace with some bigger earrings (or big necklace with small earrings) to see what might go best. I know I always prefer customers to have great earrings with no necklace to show off those bare shoulders!
5. ALWAYS GO MORE SIMPLE WHEN IN DOUBT!
If you’re still unsure about the hair and accessories, use some of these pictures of celebrities to help you!

Notice how Angelina did a simple black dress with gorgeous chunky earrings? No necklace needed to show off her shoulders!
Hair up, simple earrings, with a chunky necklace, simple dress . . . perfection!
Notice how all of the celebrities above all did necklaces, but they also all did simple earrings too!
Don’t let your jewelry wear you, you wear the jewelry!
