At last, summer is right around the corner, but before you can celebrate, you must graduate! I love graduations: the food, the attire, the gifts! I’ll jump at the opportunity to dress up for a conservative celebration. This does not always come naturally to all, though. If you find yourself second guessing your graduation look, just follow these simple rules of do’s and don’ts, and you will surely walk confidently when accepting your diploma!
-Do show your school spirit by accessorizing with your school colors.
-Don’t wear a dress darker than your robe (if you can see through your robe).
-For all of you college graduates: do take advantage of the occasion to wear white before Memorial Day.
-Don’t wear anything too revealing on such a sentimental day. You want people to be looking at you, not your outfit.
-Do wear something that will help you stand out in the crowd come picture taking time.
-Don’t put too much thought into your hair. A hat is just going to sit on top of it anyway.
-Do wear something classic. You might regret wearing something trendy to such a time-honored occasion.
-Don’t wear uncomfortable shoes. You will need to keep your baring when walking across stage.
-Do take your mother up on the offer of wearing family heirloom jewelry .
-If you are planning to make a speech at the podium, don’t be afraid to dress up a little more than everyone else.
-If your school has a dress code for graduation, do follow it. You don’t want to be the one short person standing in the back.
